Love Letters from the
Chronically Ill-Remembered
The purpose of Love Letters from the Chronically Ill-Remembered (L2CR) is to help people with chronic pain/illness nurture love for the self and the community, creating a supportive network against social, systemic, and biological challenges.
A multidisciplinary program coordinated between a fellowship program and a digital humanities scholars program, L2CR will consist of two coexisting projects: a crowdsourced digital archive of academic and creative works, and participatory action research to coordinate community-building and identity-exploration workshops. Because it involves multiple academic disciplines, it will be supplemented with interconnections of social-community psychology, creative expression, digital humanities, disability models, and pluralistic approaches to identity exploration and community building.

Multiple opportunities will be available for community members and activist volunteers/interns in both projects. Examples of roles include outreach assistants, participant-researchers, assistant editors, and other possible positions based on the project team’s capacity, needs, and existing expertise. Preference will be given to individuals who identify with chronic pain and/or illness.

As this project was developed only recently, more information about the timeline, production process, and engagement opportunities, will be announced soon.
